Programs We Offer

We incorporate the following specialized training in our therapy model.

Handwriting Without Tears

Handwriting Without Tears®:

Handwriting Without Tears® is a dynamic, multi-sensory program that teaches handwriting in a developmentally appropriate manner. Beginning with the preschool Get Set For School curriculum, Handwriting Without Tears® uses music, movement, and hands-on activities to address prewriting skills. The program advances through printing and cursive with a continued focus on handwriting foundations such as posture, pencil grip, paper placement, and hand dominance.

Therapeutic Listening

Therapeutic Listening®

Therapeutic Listening is research based tool for treating people of all ages who have difficulty processing sensory information, listening, attention, and communication.

Dir Floortime

DIR® Floortime

The DIR®Floortime Model provides a framework to understand the functional emotional development and unique profile of every child, and a guide to creating emotionally meaningful learning interactions that promote critical functional, emotional developmental capacities. The objectives of the DIR®Floortime™ Model are to build healthy foundations for social, emotional, and intellectual capacities rather than focusing on skills and isolated behaviors.

The Alert Program (How does your engine run)

The Alert Program (How Does Your Engine Run) ®

The Alert Program describes an innovative program that supports children, teachers, parents, and therapists in choosing appropriate strategies to change or maintain states of alertness. The Alert Program has been adapted for preschool through adult and for a wide variety of abilities.

The Sequential Oral Sensory

The Sequential Oral Sensory (S.O.S)

Approach to Feeding is a comprehensive, research-based assessment and treatment of feeding difficulties for infants, toddlers, grade school children, and adolescents. It is a systematic desensitization program that is respected and used worldwide to treat feeding issues. The SOS feeding program is a family-centered approach that integrates postural, sensory, motor, behavioral/learning, medical, and nutritional factors to comprehensively evaluate and manage children with feeding/growth problems.

Interactive Metronome

Interactive Metronome is a patented and unique training tool that challenges thinking and movement simultaneously to help synchronize the body’s internal clock. Research shows that combining movement and cognitive tasks leads to better overall outcomes allowing the child to reach his full potential academically, socially, and athletically. IM addresses sensory processing, working memory, attention/concentration, processing speed, motor planning/sequencing, and balance/coordination. Childlight YOGA Classes

Childlight YOGA

We believe Yoga provides vital therapeutic benefits to children. ChildLight Yoga classes provide an opportunity for children to explore movement in a fun and supportive environment. The primary objective is to provide children with strategies that build the resilience they need to adapt to the busy, outcome-based world in which they live.

Our Gyms

In order to meet the varied needs of our clients, we offer three different gym spaces.

Each therapist also has their own individual treatment room in order to provide one-on-one therapy in a quiet, safe environment.

Developmental Gym®

Developmental Gym®

Our largest gym includes a beautiful climbing structure that was designed after the unique and colorful lifeguard stands in Miami Beach, Florida. It was hand-built locally by a friend, Mark Turner who owned the building of our first location. Additionally, the large gym includes a variety of swing options, a full-size trampoline, tunnels, balance beams, scooter board ramps, rocker boards, riding toys, and abasketball goal just to name a few of the many therapeutic equipment items. Each piece of equipment was carefully selected to target specific therapeutic goals.

Sensory Gym®

Sensory Gym®

We have a slightly smaller sensory gym that we use when a large space is too overwhelming and when a child needs a calm environment. It includes special calming lighting, swings including a cuddle swing and hammock swing, special sound equipment, a tent, and a projector for calming visual effects. We often use this room for yoga activities and small group activities as well.

Baby Gym®

Baby Gym®

Additionally, we have our “baby/toddler” gym which also includes an infant swing, tunnel, foam climbing structures, and toddler-specific toys and sensory items.
